Camp Connect Impact Stories

Meet Ally, Kirby, & Maddy

Ally, Kirby, and Maddy entered care in 2015. They suffered from severe abuse and neglect, and it was unsafe for them to remain at home. In addition to being removed at such a young age, they were split up and currently live apart. On top of everything, they changed schools, which disrupted their social lives, and crucially, their relationships with each other. They started attending Camp Connect to maintain that precious bond they felt with each other through monthly visits and events.

Meet Jenny, Kevin, & Jason

Theo (12) and Remi (11) entered care in 2018 due to abuse and neglect. They were separated and had limited opportunity to see each other until July 2021, when they started attending Camp Connect events. Their recent trip to Universal Studios was an extra special one, as it fell just a week before Theo’s birthday.

Meet Ellie, Logan, and Oliver

Twins, Ellie (15), Logan (15), and their little brother, Oliver (11) entered care together in 2017. Due to neglect, it was unsafe for them to remain at home. All three live apart in different placements. Not long after they entered care, they joined Camp Connect so that they would have regular chances to see each other and spend quality time together.
