Alan (8 months old) entered care the day he was born. He was removed from his biological mother due to prenatal drug exposure.

His caregiver wanted to enroll him in baby sign language classes so he could be given the gift of language before he could speak. His caregiver reached out to Promises2Kids, and through the Something Special Fund, the request to learn baby sign language was granted.

Alan’s caregiver began to practice the signs with him at home, and after just two classes Alan began to get familiar with what the signs were associated with. Shortly after, he began to sign on his own and his first sign was “milk”.

Thanks to your support, Alan has completed level one, made friends with the other babies in the class, and will soon be starting level two!
