Congratulations Lennar HomeAid San Diego Program Graduates!

Congratulations!

Promises2Kids, Lennar, and HomeAid San Diego recently wrapped up the 3rd WORKS Construction Training Program” for a group of Guardian Scholars.

Students gained instruction, education, and hands-on training from dedicated staff to give them the confidence, skill set, and opportunity to enter the workforce. Three Guardian Scholars graduated and took their first steps into new careers in the construction industry.

We are proud of them for putting in the time and effort to make their journeys possible.

We are grateful for this partnership with Lennar and HomeAid San Diego and its continued success!

Guardian Scholars Latinx Group Celebrates Dia de Los Muertos

Guardian Scholars Latinx Group celebrated Dia de Los Muertos last week at the Promises2Kids office.

Students and mentors were joined by a special guest from the Chicano Federation and discussed their personal experiences and traditions surrounding the Dia de Los Muertos. Pan de Muertos and pupusas were shared and the altar was decorated with photos of loved ones to be honored as the group enjoyed celebrating this holiday.

The youth led a powerful discussion on how the foster care system impacts family traditions and holidays like these. Many of the students expressed gratitude to the group for giving them a community in which they could feel connected to their heritage.
