Promises2Kids was recognized as an outstanding foster youth service provider at @HomeAidSanDiego’s 4^th Annual STEP UP! Walk to End Homelessness over the weekend.

HomeAid San Diego has been a valued partner of Promises2Kids with their successful Works construction training program that offers practical, hands-on training to Guardian Scholars to help them transition into the workforce. We look forward to continuing this great program for our students.

We also congratulate HomeAid San Diego for a successful event that raised over $60,000 to support their community programs!

Guardian Scholars’ Women’s Leadership Network had its first meeting of the year. This group provides coaching from professionals and leading community members.

The meeting began with a dialog between students and the coaches about expectations for the group, what skills they would like to develop, and what they would like to accomplish. This included career goals, delivering an elevator pitch, and how to develop professionally with training and certifications.

Students then created vision boards for current and future goals, which ranged from eating healthy, getting new jobs, and continuing to provide a roof over their children’s heads.

We can’t believe it’s already been two months since this amazing night!
