Mentors Matter.
Meet Lukas & Dylan
Lukas (16) entered care at 14 due to severe neglect. Like many teens, he felt overwhelmed by life – navigating a new school, looking for his first job, earning a driver’s license, all in addition to overcoming depression, anxiety, and trauma.
Through Promises2Kids, Lukas was paired with his mentor, Dylan. His mentor is a graphic artist and shares Lukas’s interest in the field, and right from the start, they hit it off. “We have a ton in common, and it’s been easy to communicate and find mutual interests. Such a perfect match!” said the Dylan.
The mentor was recently able to secure Lukas with a part time job in the industry and supporting him finding a good routine for new work schedule. Mentors are essential to helping children thrive and achieve their goals, while overcoming challenges caused by past abuse they endured through no fault of their own.
