On Sunday, Promises2Kids held our Cocktails for a Cause event, featuring the Brighter Futures Ball Drop, both presented by Carmel Mountain Preschool.

This event presents the opportunity for community members and young professionals to learn about Promises2Kids’ mission and how our programs provide critical services and resources to foster youth.

Guests enjoyed mimosas, food, mini-golf, a photo booth, and were presented with a viewing of our Brighter Futures Ball Drop

Because of our generous community, $28,000 was raised to help create a brighter future for foster children in San Diego!

Thank you to Jimbo’s & Jimbo’s customers! An amazing $4,644.16 was raised in May during National Foster Care Month. Your support helps give foster youth the opportunity to achieve their educational goals, reconnect with their siblings each month, participate in extracurricular activities, and more.

Jimbo’s has been a longtime supporter of Promises2Kids and we are grateful for our continued partnership.

Camp Connect made a trip to the YMCA Surf Camp in Imperial beach, where youth enjoyed a day full of adventure! Siblings created special memories together while trying various activities such as archery, skateboarding, and rock climbing.

This fun-packed event gave youth a preview of what’s to come at the annual Camp Connect summer camp. Volunteers and youth especially enjoyed learning to play the camp classic GaGa ball, a small kid-friendly version of dodge ball. Outings like this give siblings precious time to spend in each other’s company and this sunny occasion was no exception!

The San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce truly is a hub for connections and collaboration! Recently, they sponsored two Promises2Kids Guardian Scholars to attend the 2022 Leadership Delegation to Sacramento which provided a wonderful opportunity to learn and grow, personally and professionally.

The trip provided many “first-times” and allowed the former foster youth to hear from many government officials to better understand how they too can impact San Diego and California. The 2-day trip was filled with presentations, networking, and even a private tour from Senator Toni Atkins and her staff of their offices in the capitol!

We would like the thank Jerry Sanders and Jaymie Bradford from the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce for making this possible and to Senator Toni Atkins for making this experience an unforgettable one!
