Congratulations Class of 2022!
This was a record-setting year as 54 Guardian Scholars in total celebrated graduation.
Students earned degrees from CSU San Marcos, San Diego State, UC San Diego, Palomar College, San Diego City College, Grossmont College, Mira Costa College, & more.
This class of Guardian Scholars has a wide range of talents and interests and that is reflected in the diverse range of disciplines including sociology, psychology, philosophy, communications, social work, criminal justice, biology, education, child development, and behavioral sciences, among others.
We are extremely proud of all the hard work, dedication, and perseverance our students put into achieving their educational goals and we are excited to see what they go on to accomplish in the next phase of their lives!
Building Career Foundations With Hands-On Training
The continued partnership between Lennar Foundation, HomeAid San Diego, and Promises2Kids held its second graduation earlier this week as 6 Guardian Scholars graduated from the WORKS program and took the first steps into new careers in the industry!
In the past few months, 4 graduates from the previous class went on to begin new careers at Lennar. We are so grateful to help bring this opportunity to our students.
We are proud of our Guardian Scholars for putting in the time and effort to make their journey possible – Congratulations!
Guardian Scholars Specialty Groups Gather to Celebrate End of School Year
Guardian Scholar specialty groups and coaches gathered for the end of the school year where we celebrated a year of new relationships, professional development, and cultural connections with a sunset sail around San Diego Bay on the Triton Charter catamaran.
In true San Diegan style, students and coaches were treated to tacos and scenic views of the downtown skyline.
Promises2Kids offers specialty groups to Guardian Scholars who wish to pursue personal improvement, professional mentorships, and cultivate relationships with peers of a similar background during regular meetings throughout the school year. If you are a Guardian Scholar interested in joining a specialty group, speak to your coordinator.
Camp Connect Visits Padres at Petco Park
It was a beautiful day for baseball as Camp Connect youth attended a Padres game at Petco Park.
Siblings separated through foster care enjoyed a perfect view of the action from a shaded suite in left field. Youth showed their home crowd spirit with matching hats and enjoyed traditional ballpark treats like hot dogs and soft pretzels. In between innings, siblings engaged in some friendly competition of their own with card games like Uno and Spoons.
Siblings left the ballpark with lasting memories from this special trip and to top off the perfect summer day, the Padres won!
