Back to School Shopping
New year, fresh start!
This month, nearly 700 foster youth had the opportunity to shop for the upcoming school year. These shopping events were held at several Old Navy locations where youth went home with new clothes, shoes, and more.
This longstanding shopping event began years ago and has continued thanks to the generosity of David Dunn and his family. Sadly, Mr. Dunn passed away last year, but we are honored to carry on his legacy and spirit of giving through this annual shopping event.
Youth were excited and grateful for this opportunity as they left the store with big smiles and full shopping bags.
Guardian Scholars Kick-Off the New Year
This weekend, Guardian Scholars met at the Handley Hotel to kick off our 2022-2023 academic year!
126 Students attended and took part in break-out workshops including Guardian Scholars 101, a resource fair, and a workshop about specialty groups available to join. This year’s groups include Advocates for Change, Leadership Network, Black & LatinX cultural groups, Parenting, and our new LGBTQ+ group.
We are excited for our biggest class of Guardian Scholars yet to start off a great year!
