Happy New Year!
The start of every new year is a time of reflection, gratitude, and intentionality.
2022 was a wonderful one, thanks to you! The community’s support made everything possible. Together, we continue to meet the needs of San Diego’s foster youth. From reuniting brothers in sisters separated in care, to helping youth chase their career and educational goals, to providing youth with the opportunity for the same extracurricular activities as their peers, and providing proper care at our emergency shelter, your support allows us to continue creating a brighter future for foster children®.
Thank you for all you do!
We wish you a happy new year and look forward to achieving wonderful things together in 2023!
Thank You Mentors!
January is one of our favorite months of the year – National Mentoring Month!
This month we celebrate all our amazing mentors. Each one of you have seized the opportunity to make a special impact in the life of a foster youth by sharing your experience, guidance, and support.
Enjoy this message from our CEO, Tonya Torosian, in appreciation of those who give their time and resources to make a special difference for our youth.

Give From Your Heart Holiday Gift Drive Brightens the Lives of Foster Children
Wish lists were once again fulfilled this holiday season, through our annual Give From Your Heart Holiday Gift Drive, presented by Carmel Mountain Preschool.
Thanks to our supporters, over 10,000 gifts were collected, and nearly $9,000 was donated in gift cards. Our amazing community came together for our youth, and collectively we made sure foster children in San Diego enjoyed the holiday season and received gifts to enjoy and call their own.
A special thank you to our Presenting Sponsor Carmel Mountain Preschool, and support from KUSI, Boyer Moving & Storage, ICW Group and CBS8 for making our gift drive possible! And a big thank you to our incredible volunteers and all who donated for bringing joy to the lives of many very deserving foster children.
Foster Youth Get the Opportunity to Shop for The Holidays
The holidays were brighter for 948 foster youth who had the opportunity to go shopping at Walmart stores throughout the County. Each youth received $100-300 based on their age to help check items off their wish lists. This year’s popular items included of Lego sets, TVs, AirPods, and bicycles. They left with full bags, smiles from ear to ear, and grateful hearts!
Thank you to our volunteers and to the generosity of the Dunn Family for their continued support of this annual shopping event.
