Guardian Scholar Black Cultural Group Begins Their Year With a Dinner for Students

The Guardian Scholars Black Cultural group held its first meeting of the 2022/2023 school year last week. Students and staff gathered together to enjoy a meal of Brazilian barbeque, a first-time experience for many. The table was full of laughter, shared community, and fine food!

The Black Cultural group is specifically for Guardian Scholars that identify as Black/African American. This group is led by other individuals in the Black community who provide an open and safe forum to share thoughts and feelings about the struggles, triumphs, and opportunities for Black youth.

ICW Group Volunteers to Help Package Fresh Produce from Feeding San Diego for Guardian Scholars

A group of volunteers from ICW Group lent some of their time and hard work to help sort and package deliveries of fresh and healthy produce for Guardian Scholars.

Promises2Kids is proud to partner with Feeding San Diego to ensure that foster youth always have fresh fruits and vegetables. Thank you to our incredible volunteers who take the time to help assemble and deliver over 50 packages every month.

NCL Volunteers Help the Promises2Kids Office Get in the Halloween Spirit

We are grateful to a group of National Charity League mother-and-daughter pairs that helped get the Promises2Kids offices in the Halloween spirit with some fun and spooky decorations!

There are ghosts, ghouls, bubbling cauldrons, and plenty of pumpkins that will help the children at the A.B. and Jessie Polinsky Children’s Center have a festive time when they come trick-or-treating at the end of the month.

Lennar Homes and HomeAid San Diego Begin Career Training Program for Guardian Scholars

Lennar Homes and HomeAid San Diego kicked off the second edition of a 45-hour intensive construction training program for a group of Guardian Scholars. Students in the program gain on-site instruction and education, as well as hands-on training and expertise from dedicated staff.

Staci Reidinger, President of the HomeAid San Diego Board of Directors for the Works Construction training program, was on site to help welcome these Guardian Scholars to the program.

Promises2Kids is grateful to continue this partnership with Lennar and HomeAid which has proven to be so successful in helping Guardian Scholars transition to the workforce.
