Promises2Kids' Guardian Scholars program is a nationally recognized program that encourages foster youth to pursue higher education through community college, trade school or a university degree. The program provides former foster youth with a partial financial scholarship along with mentoring support to assist them in adapting to and excelling in a higher education setting.
According to national data, less than 3% of foster yough acquire a college education. Our Guardian Scholars program has an 85% success rate for the former foster youth who participate.
For the 2012-2013 academic year, Promises2Kids has made a commitment to increase from 36 to 50 student scholarships. It costs $5,000 to support one student in the Guardian Scholars program. To make a gift today, please click on the Donate Now button. Any amount is appreciated.
